Puppet theatre, part 1
Interactions with the puppet theatre create a separate story in the game.
Each of the five performances can only be watched once. After watching the performance, the player can interact with the Actor to learn his story. After interacting with the Actor, the puppet theatre will move to the next district.
The puppet theatre first appears at the fair in the marketplace. It then moves to the harbour, the inn, the palace and the cathedral.
1A. Interaction with the puppet theatre at the fair
The interaction triggers a puppet show that tells the story of the descent from the cross. It’s a cheerful, fair story.
THEATRE PERFORMENCE
In the centre of the scene is a cross to which the Centurion and Jesus are approaching.
NARRATOR
– Upon reaching Golgotha, the centurion in command of the legionnaires gazed upon Jesus and said:
CENTURION
(commanding tone, pointing to the cross with his hand)
– Hop up onto the cross I’ve set up for you!
Jesus jumps onto the cross and assumes the position of a crucified man.
NARRATOR
– Jesus obeyed the command, as he didn’t want the centurion’s work to have been for naught. However, his time upon the cross was brief.
JESUS
(writhing on the cross)
– It’s pretty uncomfortable up here.
NARRATOR
– He longed for his freedom, so he broke the patibulum and leaped to the ground.
The cross falls and Jesus jumps to the ground. The centurion approaches him with a sword in his hand.
CENTURION
– You destroyed my beautiful cross! Woe upon you!
NARRATOR
– The centurion threw himself at the Messiah, sword in hand, but Jesus did not allow him to strike.
Jesus picks up the fallen cross and strikes the Centurion on the head, killing him.
NARRATOR
– He seized the broken arm of the cross and struck first.
JESUS
– He who raises the cross dies by the cross.
The Emperor appears with a sword in his hand.
NARRATOR
– Emperor Tiberius became wroth upon learning that. He decided to deal with Christ personally.
EMPEROR
– You killed my loyal servant. It’ll cost you your head. That, I swear.
Jesus takes the Centurion’s sword. There is a brief fight, after which Jesus beheads the Emperor.
JESUS
– Here’s my payment.
NARRATOR
– Jesus snatched the centurion’s sword and cut off Tiberius’s head, thus fulfilling the oath and payment of one head.
A Townsman appears on the stage, jumping for joy and cheering.
TOWNSMAN
– The Emperor is dead! Long live Jesus Triumphant! Our Lord and everlasting King!
NARRATOR
– And that is how Christ claimed the throne of the empire.
The curtain falls.
1B. Interaction with the Actor after watching the puppet show in the market square
After the puppet show, the Actor appears. He is about 50 years old, dressed in a worn professor’s robe. The Actor is holding a basket and collecting money. He approaches the townspeople standing nearby. One of the townspeople gives the Actor a silver angel.
The player can approach the Actor and interact with him. If they do, the Actor will speak to Mordimer.
ACTOR
(dignified, professorial tone)
– Welcome, Master Inquisitor. I happened to notice you stopped by my wagon. I hope the spectacle was to your liking.
MORDIMER
– It was. A most interesting rendition of the descent from the cross. Surprisingly cheerful.
The Actor spreads his hands and makes an innocent face.
ACTOR
– Well, the fair has its own rules.
MORDIMER
– You certainly don’t look or speak like a wandering actor.
ACTOR
(sad)
– That’s because I wasn’t always one. I’ve just recently become an actor. By the Lord’s will.
The actor holds out a basket to Mordimer.
ACTOR
(happier)
– Well then, Master? Toss a coin to your actor?
MORDIMER
– Maybe next time. One swallow doesn’t make a summer.
ACTOR
(friendly tone)
– I’m holding you to that. And feel free to attend more spectacles. I’ll be roaming the town with my wagon.
The Actor bows and leaves.

Wóz z kukiełkami, część 1
Interakcje z wozem z kukiełkami tworzą osobną opowieść w grze.
Każde z pięciu przedstawień można obejrzeć tylko jeden raz. Po obejrzeniu spektaklu gracz może wejść w interakcję z Aktorem i w ten sposób poznać jego historię. Dopiero po odbyciu interakcji z Aktorem wóz z kukiełkami przenosi się do kolejnej dzielnicy.
Wóz z kukiełkami pojawia się po raz pierwszy na jarmarku w rynku. Potem przenosi się do portu, następnie do karczmy, pałacu i katedry.
1A. Interakcja z wozem z kukiełkami na Rynku
Interakcja uruchamia spektakl kukiełkowy, który opowiada historię zejścia z krzyża. To wesoła, jarmarczna historyjka.
PRZEBIEG PRZEDSTAWIENIA Z KUKIEŁKAMI
Pośrodku sceny stoi krzyż, do którego podchodzą Centurion i Jezus.
NARRATOR
– Po dotarciu na Golgotę dowodzący legionistami centurion spojrzał na Jezusa, mówiąc:
CENTURION
(rozkazującym tonem, wskazując ręką krzyż)
– Wskakuj na krzyż, który dla ciebie ustawiłem!
Jezus wskakuje na krzyż, przyjmując pozycję ukrzyżowanego człowieka.
NARRATOR
– Jezus wykonał polecenie. Nie chciał bowiem, by praca centuriona poszła na marne. Nie zagrzał jednak długo miejsca na krzyżu.
JEZUS
(wiercąc się na krzyżu)
– Strasznie tu niewygodnie.
NARRATOR
– Brakowało mu swobody, złamał więc patibulum i zeskoczył na ziemię.
Krzyż się przewraca, a Jezus zeskakuje na ziemię. Centurion podchodzi do niego z mieczem w ręku.
CENTURION
– Zniszczyłeś mój piękny krzyż! Biada ci!
NARRATOR
– Centurion rzucił się na niego z mieczem w dłoni, ale Jezus nie pozwolił mu zadać ciosu.
Jezus podnosi przewrócony krzyża i uderza Centuriona w głowę, zabijając go.
NARRATOR
– Chwycił złamane ramię krzyża i uderzył pierwszy.
JEZUS
– Kto krzyż stawia, ten od krzyża ginie.
Na scenie pojawia się Cesarz z mieczem w ręku.
NARRATOR
– Cesarz Tyberiusz wpadł w złość, gdy się o tym dowiedział. Postanowił osobiście rozprawić się z Chrystusem.
CESARZ
– Zabiłeś mojego wiernego sługę. Zapłacisz za to głową. Przysięgam.
Jezus podnosi miecz Centuriona. Dochodzi do krótkiej walki, w wyniku której Jezus ścina Cesarzowi głowę.
JEZUS
– Oto twoja zapłata.
NARRATOR
– Jezus chwycił miecz centuriona i skrócił Tyberiusza o głowę, czyniąc zadość słowom jego przysięgi. Cesarz nie powiedział wszak, że Chrystus miał zapłacić własną głową.
Na scenie pojawia się podskakujący z radości i wiwatujący Mieszczanin.
MIESZCZANIN
– Umarł cesarz! Niech żyje Jezus Tryumfator! Nasz Pan i wiekuisty król!
NARRATOR
– W ten sposób Chrystus zasiadł na tronie cesarstwa.
Kurtyna opada.
1B. Interakcja z Aktorem po obejrzeniu spektaklu na Rynku (jarmark)
Po zakończeniu spektaklu przy wozie z kukiełkami pojawia się Aktor. To około 50-letni mężczyzna w podniszczonej profesorskiej todze. Aktor trzyma w rękach koszyczek, do którego zbiera pieniądze. Podchodzi do stojących w pobliżu Mieszczan. Jeden z Mieszczan daje Aktorowi srebrnego anioła.
Gracz może podejść do Aktora i wejść z nim w interakcję. Jeśli to zrobi, Aktor zwróci się do Mordimera.
AKTOR
(dostojny, profesorski ton)
– Witaj, mistrzu inkwizytorze. Widziałem, że zatrzymałeś się przy moim wozie. Mam nadzieję, że spektakl przypadł ci do gustu.
MORDIMER
– Owszem. Bardzo ciekawa interpretacja zejścia z krzyża. Zaskakująco wesoła.
Aktor rozkłada ręce, robiąc niewinną minę.
AKTOR
– Cóż, jarmark rządzi się swoimi prawami.
MORDIMER
– Nie wyglądacie i nie wysławiacie się jak wędrowny aktor.
AKTOR
(smutno)
– Bo nie zawsze nim byłem. Aktorem zostałem niedawno. Z woli Pana.
Aktor wystawia Mordimerowi koszyk.
AKTOR
(weselej)
– Więc, mistrzu? Rzucisz groszem?
MORDIMER
– Następnym razem. Jedna jaskółka wiosny nie czyni.
AKTOR
(przyjaznym tonem)
– Trzymam za słowo. I zapraszam na kolejne przedstawienia. Będę krążył z wozem po mieście.
Aktor kłania się i odchodzi.
